THE BRAND’S POINT OF VIEW

Aeyla: origin & history.

Matt King and Sam Hochland launched Mela in Britain in 2017. The name became Aeyla in 2022 as the collection developed around the bedroom and evening routines. Pillows, bedding and small ritual objects now sit within that wider setting. The Dual Pillow makes its idea visible through construction: a firmer inner pillow sits inside a softer outer layer. This nested design gives a familiar object a specific structure, with a cotton shell and microfibre filling. It remains a matter of personal comfort and preferred pillow height, rather than a universal answer to sleep.
