DharmaCrafts: origin & history.
Dyan Eagles began DharmaCrafts in 1979 while practising at the Cambridge Zen Center. Inspired by a retreat, she first sewed meditation clothing and shared a flyer in Harvard Square. The business grew around the practical objects used for sitting, including zafu cushions and floor mats. Its current cushions are made in Massachusetts. The Indigo Mandala zafu carries that long focus into a patterned textile object, with a separate inner shell that allows the buckwheat filling to be adjusted.

What catches our eye.
The separate inner shell makes the cushion’s firmness adjustable without disturbing the outer patterned cover. Its handle is a small practical detail for moving a meditation setup between rooms.
