Loftie: origin & history.
The first idea was an app for using a phone less. During a residency at IDEO, Loftie’s founder Matt found a more tangible answer: return the alarm clock to the bedside. Industrial designer Greg Wolos led the clock’s design, while conversations in people’s homes helped shape its controls and role. The New York brand later added a lamp, but the original object remains the clearest introduction. Its low, rounded body, dark display and illuminated base give a small household tool a considered presence.
