Julie Sawaya and Ryan Woodbury founded Needed in Los Angeles in 2017. Their shared questions about nutrition around motherhood became the starting point for a specialist brand. That perspective remains central to its identity, but the products have different compositions and intended uses. Women’s Collagen Protein is particularly concise: hydrolysed bovine collagen, without other ingredients. Its plain powder format can join food or a drink, making preparation part of the choice. It should be understood as a particular protein supplement, with no assumption that every woman needs it.
