The Riedel family’s first Bohemian glassworks dates to 1756; the modern Austrian chapter began in Kufstein in 1956. The wine glass looks simple until its proportions are compared closely. Riedel organises collections around different bowl geometries and serving contexts. Veloce, introduced in 2022, applies machine production to thin profiles and tall stems. It shows a form of industrial precision that should be distinguished from the hand-made glassmaking used in other collections.
