Rishi Tea & Botanicals: origin & history.
Joshua Kaiser founded Rishi in 1997 after finding that the handcrafted teas he enjoyed during his travels in Asia were difficult to find in North America. The Milwaukee company developed around direct relationships with growers and a close interest in how tea is harvested and processed. That sourcing work sits beside a culinary approach to blending. Earl Grey Lavender illustrates the latter: a black-tea base, lavender flowers, bergamot essential oil and lavender extract form a floral variation on Earl Grey.

What catches our eye.
Rishi is interesting for the way it connects leaves, flowers and preparation. This blend suits someone who enjoys a clear lavender note rather than a plain citrus Earl Grey. It contains black tea and therefore caffeine; the botanical ingredients do not make it an evening herbal infusion.
