Nodira’s upbringing in Tashkent informs the visual story of Samarali, a brand based in the Netherlands. Those personal roots appear in decorative textile details, while the objects serve familiar practices such as yoga and seated meditation. The Zafu is a clear example: a round cushion with a cotton cover, buckwheat-hull filling and a patterned carrying handle. The Dutch brand’s origin is distinct from the founder’s Uzbek childhood. Together they explain why a functional meditation cushion also carries a recognisable visual accent.
