T2

T2 began in Melbourne in 1996, pairing loose-leaf tea with colourful teaware and a retail world built around the pleasure of making a cup.

THE BRAND’S POINT OF VIEW

T2: origin & history.

Maryanne Shearer and Jan O’Connor opened T2’s first shop in Fitzroy, Melbourne, in 1996. The house approached tea through colour and curiosity as much as tradition: loose leaves, unexpected blends and teaware made to share the same shelves. That relationship between drink and object still defines the collection. French Earl Grey is a telling example. Its name describes a fruit-and-flower variation on bergamot black tea, not a French origin for the company. The blend sits beside plain teas, infusions and cups, allowing a familiar afternoon ritual to take on a more personal shape.

A few pieces tell the story in their own way, through a shape, a material or a familiar gesture.

BEFORE YOU EXPLORE

A closer look.

What catches our eye.

Look at the tea and the brewing vessel together. French Earl Grey offers a floral alternative to a plain black tea, while the 100 g cube is a different purchase from the 250 g refill or tea-bag edition.
