Tonic Australia makes fabric accessories for rest, travel and everyday rituals. Its Australian story began with Toni Joel and Nikki Horovitz, whose names inspired the label’s own. Tonic Australia: origin & history.
Toni Joel and Nikki Horovitz created Tonic in 1992, initially developing products for Australian retailers. In 1996 they expanded into Tonic-branded wholesale collections for independent boutiques. The heat pillow joined the range in 2000, bringing a fabric accessory into the daily pause rather than only the travel bag. Today the Melbourne team develops a broader collection of rest and organisation pieces. The Luxe Velvet Eye Mask in Musk follows that approach through a velvet front, satin reverse and covered elastic strap, with Australian design and manufacture in China for this particular model.

Tonic’s Luxe Velvet Eye Mask in Musk has a muted pink polyester-velvet front and an acetate-satin reverse. A satin-covered elastic strap sits behind the head, holding the shaped mask over the eyes to screen out light. The stated dimensions are 10 × 2 × 20 cm and the weight is 40 g. It is an unheated mask, distinct from the brand’s filled eye pillows. Slip it into a travel bag or keep it beside the bed. The care instructions allow hand washing or a gentle machine wash. Designed in Australia and made in China.

Tonic’s Evening Bloom heat pillow pairs a dark floral cotton cover with a filling of barley and lavender. The 40 × 14 × 3 cm pillow weighs 800 g and can be used warm or cooled as part of a quiet break. For warming, the instructions specify a clean microwave turntable, one minute on high with a turn halfway through, then 20-second increments if needed; never heat continuously for more than two minutes. It is unsuitable for flatbed microwaves. For cooling, place it in the refrigerator. The cover is spot-clean only.
