Get to know VAVA.

For VAVA, a circle or a straight line is enough to begin a frame. Founder Pedro da Silva launched the label from Berlin, describing the move in an interview at the time of its 2014 debut. Its Portuguese roots remain part of the story: in a later first-person interview, he describes developing an office in a post-industrial building in Porto. The brand’s visual references bring Bauhaus geometry into conversation with electronic music and a deliberately futuristic wardrobe. Round lenses, flat surfaces and block-like hinges make those references tangible rather than decorative. VAVA’s frames are handmade in the Treviso area of Italy, separating the place of manufacture from the cities that shaped the label. The result is an eyewear collection whose identity comes from proportion and construction, with colour changing the character of an otherwise pared-back shape.
