Founded in France by Ondine Martinez and Johanna Stauffer, Yogamatata combines cork yoga surfaces and botanical drawing, with a new chapter after its 2026 relaunch.
Yogamatata: origin & history.
Ondine Martinez and Johanna Stauffer developed Yogamatata before a crowdfunding campaign and company creation in 2018. Cork surfaces, natural-rubber bases and drawn motifs gave the French yoga brand its recognisable objects. Its history also includes an interruption: after difficulties under a later acquirer and liquidation in 2025, a new team announced reopening on 22 August 2026. Ginkgo Confort belongs to the current offer. The leaf drawing remains visible across a cork practice surface, connecting the original material and graphic vocabulary with the brand’s new commercial chapter.
