Yogasleep: origin & history.
Jim Buckwalter wanted to recreate the steady rushing sound that his wife Trudy enjoyed in hotel rooms. His first device combined a small fan motor with a handmade enclosure. That 1962 invention became the foundation of Marpac, the company later known as Yogasleep. The collection has expanded, but Dohm Classic retains the original principle: moving air inside a tuned housing. Its rotating shell and two-speed switch make adjustment a physical gesture, keeping this particular model separate from the brand’s digital and app-connected machines.

Dohm Classic · White · 120 V →
The white Dohm Classic generates sound with a real internal fan, without recordings or an audio loop. A low/high switch sets the speed; rotating the cap and collar changes volume and tone. The cylindrical body measures about 14.2 × 14.2 × 8.9 cm. This version plugs into 120 V AC and is intended for the United States and Canada only: it is not compatible with other voltage standards. Its roughly 2.1 m power cable is included. It has no rechargeable battery, app or pairing process. Choose a comfortable sound level and keep ventilation openings clear.

Travel Mini —White →
Yogasleep’s Travel Mini puts six sound choices and an amber night light into a pocket-sized white housing. The options include white noise, fan sounds and nature recordings, giving a familiar sound layer in different rooms. A rechargeable battery and USB connection make it practical to move, while the included lanyard offers a hanging point. At 2.5×2.5×1.8 inches and 5.2 oz, it is a compact travel companion with electronic sound options, distinct from the larger fan-based Dohm Classic.

What catches our eye.
Dohm Classic suits someone who wants one continuous mechanical sound and tangible controls. The choice depends on liking that particular fan sound and having a compatible electrical supply.
