Get to know ARQUISTE.
ARQUISTE builds fragrances around researched historical moments and places. Its presentation treats scent as a way to revisit an atmosphere, with top, heart and base notes forming part of the narrative. L’Etrog imagines a harvest gathering in medieval Calabria, translating that setting into citron, myrtle, date fruit and a woody background.
Official history
ARQUISTE was created by Carlos Huber, a Mexican-born architect with a background in restoration. Its perfume concepts begin with a historical setting, translating an imagined place and moment into an individual composition rather than a conventional fragrance-family label alone.

A closer look.
What catches our eye.
L’Etrog is a useful introduction to narrative perfumery because its citrus opening and woody structure are explicitly described. The historical setting is the creative inspiration, rather than a claim about surviving medieval perfume.
