Castelbel takes part of its name from Castêlo da Maia, where Aquiles Barros founded the company in 1999. Hand-wrapped soaps were the beginning of a collection that grew into fragrance for both home and body. Printed wraps, coloured glass and small decorative details turn these everyday objects into recognisable gifts without making every collection look alike. The Portuguese house now also includes the Portus Cale line. Its current official history identifies BR Investments Group as the parent group, while the original craft of wrapping and finishing remains central to the way the brand presents its work.
