THE BRAND’S POINT OF VIEW

Get to know Design House Stockholm.

Design House Stockholm compares its relationship with designers to that of a publisher with authors: ideas arrive before a product brief. Harri Koskinen brought the house his Block Lamp while still an unknown student in Helsinki, according to its official story. A familiar industrial bulb sits inside solid glass with the appearance of an ice block. The object’s tension comes from that pairing of warmth and apparent cold, ordinary component and sculptural enclosure.
