Get to know Lacoste.
René Lacoste and André Gillier established Lacoste in France in 1933. Its defining garment, the L.12.12 polo, brought cotton Petit Piqué and a short-sleeved silhouette into the sporting wardrobe. The embroidered crocodile became its recognisable signature. Today the collection reaches beyond the polo into clothing, footwear and accessories, while tennis remains a central visual reference.
The Selezio perspective.
Start with the balance between ease and structure: a soft knit, a precise collar, a clear block of colour. Lacoste is a useful reference if you like sportswear that can sit alongside a more considered everyday wardrobe. Its technical sneakers offer a more expressive direction than the familiar polo.
