Paper & Tea: origin & history.
A tea shop can also be a place to look, ask and taste. Jens de Gruyter opened the first Paper & Tea shop in Berlin in 2012, bringing a long-standing interest in tea into a business that also made room for paper and design. The current house combines tea, tools and places where preparation becomes visible. Our selection follows that central ritual rather than the accessories: a Japanese ceremonial matcha from Kagoshima, presented as a finely ground tea to whisk into water or use in a latte.

What catches our eye.
The preparation makes the product more interesting than the tin alone: measuring, sifting and whisking all contribute to a recognisable ritual. Brand origin and tea-growing origin remain two different stories.
