Originally founded in Los Angeles, Slowdown Studio is now based in Sydney under Jacob and Sarah-Jane Leung, according to its current story. Its throws begin with collaborations with independent artists. Barbosa was designed by Thomas Gaudinet from Nantes and selected in the studio’s 2021 art competition, then translated into a woven domestic textile.
