Get to know AAKS.
Colour is woven into an AAKS bag rather than added as a flat surface. Founder Akosua Afriyie-Kumi built the Ghanaian label around the weaving techniques of women artisans in Ghana, translating their textured structures into contemporary handbag shapes. Raffia gives the collection its recognisable irregularity, while leather details and contrasting bands sharpen the outlines. The brand explains that natural variations form part of each handmade piece. These differences are especially visible in a small bag: the scale of a stitch, a change of colour and the curve of an edge remain easy to read.

What catches our eye.
