THE BRAND’S POINT OF VIEW

Walden: origin & history.

A meditation cushion can belong to a room as naturally as a chair. Walden developed that idea around its Original Cushion, a contemporary interpretation of the traditional zafu. The designers combined buckwheat hulls with a thin memory-foam layer and worked from a studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The collection has since extended into mats, seating and objects that define a dedicated space. Its interest lies in the relationship between a simple form and a repeated ritual, rather than a decorative symbol of meditation.

BEFORE YOU EXPLORE

A closer look.

What catches our eye.

The cylindrical shape and dark Carbon upholstery give the cushion a quiet architectural presence. We selected it as an object for seated practice, without treating posture or relaxation as a guaranteed result.
