Get to know Withings.
Withings began in 2008 and introduced its first connected scale the following year. That starting point remains visible in the range: an ordinary household gesture becomes the moment when data is collected. The company later explored analogue-looking watches and other measuring devices. Its history includes acquisition by Nokia in 2016 and reacquisition by founder Eric Carreel in 2018, when the Withings name returned. BodyScan 2 develops the scale into a more elaborate object, pairing a glass platform with a retractable handle and a display. The approach puts industrial design and software around a familiar place in the home.

A few pieces tell the story in their own way, through a shape, a material or a familiar gesture.
A closer look.
What catches our eye.
The design interest is in the relationship between a floor-level platform and information brought up to the hand. The retractable handle changes both the gesture and where the display is read. Regional software features and subscription choices are part of the product, alongside the hardware.
