Sacco explains a great deal about Zanotta’s place in Italian design. In 1968, Gatti, Paolini and Teodoro proposed a seat without the conventional rigid chair structure: a cover containing small polystyrene pellets. Its changing outline shifted attention from an imposed sitting posture to the body itself. Zanotta’s catalogue preserves that willingness to test everyday furniture through unfamiliar forms and ways of use.
