Sencha Loose Leaf — 40 g

Good & Proper Tea’s Sencha develops its character under shade for 18 days before picking. That step brings a rounded umami quality to the Japanese green tea, alongside a fresh aroma and a gently sweet finish. The dark leaves open in water and can be infused up to three times, according to the brand. This 40 g loose-leaf format gives a different cup from the red, woody rooibos already in the selection.

Good & Proper Tea’s loose-leaf rooibos comes from the Cederberg mountains of South Africa. The 75 g format contains the fine red leaves used for a naturally caffeine-free infusion, rather than black or green tea. The house describes a rounded, honey-sweet profile with dried-cherry and vanilla notes; those are tasting notes, not a list of added flavourings. Use 2.5 g, or one heaped teaspoon, for 200 ml of water at 98°C and steep for four minutes. Drink it plain or add a small dash of milk.
