Anglepoise

Anglepoise makes an adjustable mechanism the defining feature of a lamp, with visible springs and arms that give task lighting its familiar silhouette.

THE BRAND’S POINT OF VIEW

Get to know Anglepoise.

George Carwardine’s work on springs led to a lamp that could be repositioned while remaining balanced. The Original 1227, launched in 1935, made the mechanism part of its appearance rather than hiding it. The collection now extends across desk, floor, wall and pendant lights, retaining the relationship between a useful movement and a recognisable form.

BEFORE YOU EXPLORE

A closer look.

What catches our eye.

Choose the scale for the surface you actually use. Reach, base size and the position of the switch matter as much as the lamp’s familiar profile.
