How to choose a scarf: length, volume and how you wear it
Start with your coat, compare the proportions and find a scarf that works with your everyday clothes, with Acne Studios and Begg x Co to explore.

Try it with the coat you actually wear
An attractive scarf on its own can look very different beside a lapel, a hood or a high collar. Start with the outerwear you reach for most often. Fasten it as you normally would, then add a scarf you already own as a reference. Notice where the fabric sits and how much of the coat remains visible. This tells you whether you want a smaller accent, a loose frame around the face or a more generous drape.
Measure length against your preferred wrap
Measure your reference scarf laid flat and note how much fabric remains after one loose turn. If you prefer an open drape, look at where the ends finish on your coat. If you fold a scarf in half and pass the ends through the loop, compare the resulting length too. There is no single ideal measurement: the useful comparison is between your preferred gesture and the dimensions of the scarf you are considering.
Look at volume as well as width
Width alone does not tell you how a scarf will sit. Fold your reference once lengthways and compare it with the unfolded version. Watch the space it occupies at the collar and over the shoulders. When trying another scarf, check whether you like its folds with your coat both open and closed. A photograph of a neat stack is useful for colour, but a worn view gives you more information about the outline.
Choose colour in the context of your wardrobe
Place two possible colours beside the coat rather than judging them in isolation. A shade close to the outerwear can keep the outline quiet; a contrasting one can draw attention to the scarf. Try the same comparison with a bag or knit you wear regularly. If you like a pattern, look at its scale in a full outfit, not only in a close-up. Keep the combination that you want to wear again.
Two collections for comparing proportions
Acne Studios’ scarf collection includes narrow formats. Begg x Co’s collection separates lightweight scarves, stoles and oversized scarves. These are useful starting points for comparing shape, rather than reasons to assume that every piece will suit the same use. Explore the two brand profiles on Selezio, then compare the exact dimensions, fibre composition and care instructions of the pieces that interest you. The examples are discovery references, not a comparative wear test.
Keep a short, specific shortlist
Before saving a favourite, write down three things: the coat it belongs with, the way you want to wrap it and the colour relationship you prefer. Add the care requirements to that note so they remain part of the decision. Keep a small selection in My Selezio and compare it with your reference scarf. A clear role makes it easier to see what a new piece would bring to clothes you already enjoy.
