Ippodo Tea: origin & history.
Ippodo’s story begins in Kyoto in 1717. The family-run house keeps tea at the centre of its identity, from its original shop on Teramachi Street to the instructions that accompany each blend. Rather than treating matcha as a single flavour, it offers distinct choices and preparation methods. Sayaka is a useful introduction to that range: the house describes a rounded balance of sweetness and umami with a little bitterness. The selected 40 g can makes the distinction between the blend itself and its packaging particularly clear.

What catches our eye.
Ippodo’s precise names and preparation guides invite comparison through taste and technique. We chose Sayaka as a defined blend, not as a generic powdered-tea wellness promise.
