Swedish specialist TePe approaches everyday oral care through small, purposeful tools, from its first triangular dental stick to colour-coded interdental brushes designed and made in Malmö.

TePe began with a shape rather than a broad beauty collection. In 1965, woodcarver Henning Eklund worked with professors at Malmö’s School of Dentistry on a triangular dental stick. Its section responded to the space it was meant to enter, a practical starting point that still gives the Swedish company its identity. Toothbrushes followed, then the interdental brush range in 1993. Short handles, colour codes and different brush sizes make the detail of use part of the object’s design. TePe keeps development and manufacturing in Malmö, while its tools reach consumers through regional shops and dental channels. The company identifies the Eklund family as its owners. Within a bathroom routine, the appeal is the clarity of a specialised object: a visible size, a grip made to hold and a form tied to a particular task.
