Get to know East Fork.
East Fork began with potters and a wood-fired kiln in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Its current hand-painted collection returns to techniques founder Alex Matisse used as an apprentice. He designed the Tulip Crown motif and now trains a small team to repeat it by hand. On the mug, tulips circle the stoneware body with the slight variations of individual brushwork. The painter’s mark underneath connects the finished object to the person who decorated it.

What catches our eye.
The repeated motif stays lively because it is painted rather than printed. It can stand alone or sit among the house’s plain glazes.
